About The Role
The Department of Chemistry is looking to appoint a Technical Assistant to join their busy Chemical Stores Facility. This varied role will primarily support the Stores Manager, working alongside other Technical Assistant colleagues, in providing an essential service to the research community and wider department. You will be integral in delivering high-quality support to help ensure the smooth running of the facility, carrying out duties including receiving deliveries and managing stock.
This role will require handling of heavy packages and chemicals. Manual handling aids and training will be provided, but an awareness of COSHH and relevant Safe Handling Regulations would be advantageous.
About You
You will be enthusiastic, motivated, organised and have excellent customer service skills. You will have a can-do attitude, excellent teamwork experience and an ability to work independently and flexibly in a busy environment. You will also need to be able to keep accurate records and have clear verbal communication skills.
