Senior SHEQ
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior SHEQ Advisor who has experience working within the Power Sector, to join our Borehamwood SHEQ Team. You will manage the SHEQ Team for your area of responsibility, ensuring acceptable performance standards. You will be working across a number of Power projects across the business.
Responsibilities
1. Notify any changes in your duties to all others who may be affected by these changes.
2. Ensure strict adherence to the reporting and recording procedures for accidents and dangerous occurrences as required under RIDDOR, as directed by the SHEQ Manager.
3. Provide specialist advice on the company's safety policy and procedures and compliance with statutory obligations throughout the company.
4. Monitor arrangements to ensure that health and safety standards applied by contractors are satisfactory and in accordance with contractual arrangements, company specifications, policy and procedures.
5. Monitor sites for compliance to ensure the relevant, required documentation is in place and that site notice boards are current and erected in the appropriate place.
6. Ensure that site employees work in accordance with the company’s health and safety requirements, policies, and procedures along with those of its Clients.
7. Recommend disciplinary procedures where any member of site supervisory staff fails to discharge their safety responsibilities satisfactorily.
8. Take appropriate action when notified of disregard for safety on site.
9. Ensure the provision of a safe and healthy working environment for persons working in or visiting any company operation, site, and/or premises.
10. Monitor the provision and effectiveness of adequate and existing welfare facilities.
11. Promote the reporting of near misses throughout the company.
12. You are required to work at any site on which the Company operates, as authorized and as determined by the needs of the business. You will not be required to work outside the United Kingdom.
13. Attend clients' contract meetings as and when required, prepare and deliver presentations accordingly.
14. Be accountable to the SHEQ Head of Major Projects in respect of health, safety, and environmental matters.
Required Qualifications
1. NCRQ level 6 / NVQ level 6 / NEBOSH diploma
2. Minimum 5 years experience working in the utilities sector (Power sector preferred)
3. Minimum 5 years experience working within Live Substations (Desirable)
4. Experience working with management systems and the NERS Accreditation (Desirable)
5. Experience working in DNOs and IDNOs
6. EUSR or CSCS in General Health and Safety
7. Proficient in compiling reports
8. MUST HOLD CURRENT FULL UK DRIVERS LICENSE
