Job Description Fugro is recruiting for an experienced Project Engineer to join the team based in Wallingford, Oxfordshire. Your role will be primarily to provide accurate and customised services to clients by performing geotechnical work around the process of acquiring, analysing, engineering and interpreting of complete and high-quality geotechnical data. You will play a key role in providing geotechnical advice in one or a small number of specialised technical disciplines. You will also be involved in developing solutions to clients by putting acquired geotechnical data into context and typically following prescribed guidelines and procedures but may deviate. Provides on-the-job training to more junior colleagues. Receives a moderate level of guidance and direction. Can work efficiently and accurately whilst carrying out repetitive processing tasks You have a strong eye for detail and are able to competently and accurately follow set procedures and national standards Who you’ll be working with: On a daily basis you will be working closely with the Project Engineering team, Project Management team and will also have a client facing element to your tasks. Here’s what a typical day would be like: Overseeing project programmes and reporting any changes. Managing commercial aspects of the contract whilst on site. Mentoring and training junior staff. Please note that whilst this position requires a 37.5hr week, the company can offer hybrid working and may be able to offer flexibility around working hours and would be happy to discuss this at interview. However, overtime will be required from time to time. Who we’re looking for: We are looking for candidates who are versatile, reliable, and efficient. We require first class communicators that adopt a proactive and systematic approach with a competitive attitude, along with: Essential A degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline or equivalent in education experience. Student or associate member of an appropriate professional body. Computer literate, capable of using spreadsheets and plotting software. Capable of generating a safe and quality-based culture within the offshore and onshore team. Good communicator (I.e verbally and written) to deliver the results for internal and external clients. A good team player and able to form working relationships with clients and colleagues at all levels. Desirable Knowledge of soil and rock description and testing/reporting.
