PRIMARY PURPOSE
The Assistant Accountant will support the Senior Management Accountant for the Europe region in providing operational finance support to key business units within this important region.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Management accounts
* Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts including preparation of best estimates, balance sheet reconciliations, providing narrative and financial explanation
* Providing analysis of performance variance against budget and forecast
* Analysis of revenue performance against budget and forecast
* Analysis and review of direct costs and overheads including recording accruals and prepayments
* Review of weekly revenue flash forecasts
Budgeting / reforecasting
* Providing analysis and information required by regional management for the preparation of annual financial budgets and quarterly forecasts
Financial performance management
* Assisting with customer invoicing queries
* Cash management including involvement in the debt collection process in conjunction with the regional sales teams, proactively minimising debtor days
* Provide financial information required for commercial bids and tenders as required
* Prepare financial analysis as required by regional and group management to assist in financial performance management
Payroll
* Preparation of payroll input file, including a review of all variables including offshore day rates, overtime, joiners and leavers etc.
* Submission of payroll input file to third party payroll processor.
* Review & reconciliation of payroll reports received.
* Approval of monthly payroll.
* Handling of any finance related payroll queries.
