Role: Solutions Architect Rate: Inside IR35 Location: 2 days per week in Edinburgh, rest remote Duration: 6 months This Solution Architect role specialises in integration. They will be responsible for designing and implementing integration solutions that enable seamless communication between various systems and applications. This role requires a deep understanding of architecture principles, system integration methodologies, and the ability to evaluate current infrastructures to propose optimal solutions. The ideal candidate will excel at investigating existing environments and exploring potential integration options that align with business objectives. Key Responsibilities: Assess current state architecture and integration capabilities across various systems. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and objectives. Identify and evaluate integration options, including middleware, APIs, and cloud solutions. Design end-to-end integration solutions that ensure data consistency and system interoperability. Create architectural documentation and diagrams to communicate designs and strategies effectively. Work closely with development teams to ensure successful implementation of integration solutions. Conduct performance assessments and recommend improvements to existing integration solutions. Mandatory Skills: Proven experience working as a Solution Architect in integration projects. Strong knowledge of integration patterns, protocols (e.g., REST, SOAP, EDI), and technologies (e.g., ESB, API management). Proficiency in system analysis and design methodologies. Experience with cloud-based integration platforms, in particular Azure. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills for assessing current state and proposing viable solution options. Strong communication skills to engage with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Familiarity with Agile methodologies and project management principles. Desirable Skills: Experience with enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman). Knowledge of data modelling and database management. Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines for integration deployments. Certifications in relevant technologies or methodologies (e.g., Azure Certified Solutions Architect, Integration Architecture certifications). Experience with financial services industry-specific integration challenges. Understanding of cybersecurity principles related to system integrations.
