We are working with a large SEN school just outside of Ashford who are looking for experienced and qualified Residential Support Workers to start throughout January and into Febuary 2025. The role is based at the Residential site for the SEN school. Working hours are 1pm - 11pm. The school is an coeducational, day school which caters for students across Key Stages 1 – Key Stage 4 with EHC Plans of social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties and a range of additional learning difficulties including Autism and Moderate Learning Difficulties. They also have a seperate site closeby that supports children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health issues. Your key duties as a Residential Support Worker will be to: · Support students 1:1 and on a small group basis within the Residential home. · Follow IEPs. · Manage any challenging behaviour at times. · Provide encouragement and help teach the young people life skills. - Must have good knowledge of Safeguarding. It is essential that you have previous experience supporting children or adults within a Residential care setting and being able to help children with their home based work who need extra academic support. The school is set in a beautiful rural site of Ashford and is housed in a range of buildings, from converted farm buildings to award winning buildings of four newly built classrooms. Students use the site for sports events, archaeological digs and ecology studies as well as being given the opportunity to grow fruit and vegetables and take part in vocational studies with the workshops and kitchen spaces. You will be rewarded with excellent rates of pay of £14 - £14.50 per hour.
