An exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 7 Occupational Therapist to lead a team in A and E in UHW.We are seeking a band 7 therapist who has experience of team leadership and a sound understanding of the principles of urgent / acute care and frailty. The post holder maybe required to work a 7 day rota. The post will work alongside a Team Lead Occupational Therapist in the Right Bed First Time team, andwill support the workstream todeliver the D2RA model and Home First principle. The post will delivervalue based occupational therapy with the person at the centre of care practisingthe Right Care, Right Time, Right Place. Occupational therapy valuean MDT service approach and the post will support training and partnership working. Main duties of the job The post holder will lead a team to : • Provide early occupational therapy assessment and planning to support individuals to achieve their goals and return to their usual place of residence. • Complete the Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment for the occupational therapy plan in the hospital setting. • Provide a positive experience of acute/urgent care which improves the outcomes for individuals. • Provide a safe environment and protect people from avoidable harm while supporting the independence goals and positive risk taking. • Ensure appropriately trained and sufficient staffing and support to deliver the service. • Deliver occupational therapy in the acute setting linking with comunity partners to facilitate timely and appropriate discharge. • The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply. Person Specification Qualifications Essential • Qualification in Occupational Therapy at degree level or equivalent • Holds professional registration as awarded by HCPC • Evidence of recent formal training/learning at higher level /level 7 Desirable • Practice educator Qualification Experience Essential • Experience of working in the NHS • Significant post graduate clinical experience in medicine • Team leadership within uni and multi disciplinary teams • Evidence of people management experience Skills Essential • Evidence of service development/audit/research • Evidence of advanced clinical reasoning • Evidence of IT competence • Demonstrable skills in implementing evidence based practice,policy and strategy Personal Qualities Essential • Adaptive skills demonstrating creativity • Professional behaviour reflecting C&V values • Ability to lead, support,coach and motivate others
