We are looking for a enthusiastic and dynamic Activities co-ordinator who is passionate about working with older people with Dementia.
You will work part-time over 4 days to include some weekends.
Your specific duties will include:
* Promoting the general health and mental well-being of residents by maintaining their quality of life and enabling them to feel part of the everyday activities. This is achieved through regular and appropriate physical exercise, mental stimulation, and support regarding social, cultural, and religious beliefs or faith.
* Providing and assisting residents to access and participate in a range of recreational activities, either in groups or individually, to ensure they can socialise and continue to have a happy and content life while living in The Risings.
* Communicating effectively with residents, other staff, residents' families, visitors, and healthcare professionals, fostering a happy working environment.
* Observing, monitoring, and recording the condition of residents while delivering activities and care. This includes maintaining personal life stories and the appropriate sections in the care plan regarding residents' activities and lifestyle choices.
* Assisting residents to keep mobile and contributing to moving and handling using the correct techniques, as well as following policies and procedures regarding falls management.
* Supporting the health and safety of residents, yourself, other staff, and visitors.
* Ensuring that all interactions with residents are beneficial to their health and well-being. This applies to group and individual activities, taking residents to hospital appointments, helping with eating and drinking, and making meal times enjoyable.
