Role Overview
We are looking for a skilled Casework Officer to join our team in the Legal and Investigations Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a caseload of complaints and queries related to rights breaches or entitlements.
This is an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in casework management, advocacy, and policy interpretation. You will work closely with colleagues to provide efficient and effective advice, advocacy, and guidance on appropriate remedies using current legal and policy frameworks.
Key Accountabilities:
* Manage a caseload of complaints and queries related to rights breaches or entitlements
* Provide prompt advice and advocacy to achieve satisfactory resolutions and support clients with complaints against relevant authorities
* Assist with investigations into alleged rights breaches and represent clients in tribunal cases
* Maintain accurate records in the case management system
* Assist with outreach activities
Essential Criteria:
* Degree qualification in a relevant subject (e.g., Law or Social Science)
* At least two years of professional experience in managing casework, providing advocacy and advice, and interpreting legislation and policy documents
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work well as an individual and in a team
* Ability to work under pressure, handle a caseload, and meet tight deadlines
