Job Title: PE Lead (Unqualified Teacher Considered) Location: Primary School, Milton Keynes Contract: Full-Time, Permanent Start Date: January 2025 About the Role: We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic PE Lead to join our school in Milton Keynes from January 2025. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual passionate about physical education and its impact on children's overall development. While a teaching qualification is desirable, we are open to considering candidates without formal teaching qualifications, as long as you have a strong background in physical education or relevant experience working with children in a school setting. As the PE Lead, you will play a pivotal role in promoting physical activity and well-being across the school, ensuring that all students receive a high-quality PE curriculum that fosters a love for sport, fitness, and healthy lifestyles. Key Responsibilities: Lead and deliver engaging PE lessons across all primary school year groups. Develop and implement a structured and dynamic PE curriculum in line with the National Curriculum. Organise and manage extracurricular sports activities, clubs, and competitions. Promote physical activity throughout the school day and encourage a healthy lifestyle among students. Lead PE staff (if applicable) and work alongside other teachers to integrate physical activity into cross-curricular lessons. Plan and assess pupils’ progress in PE, ensuring every child is challenged and supported. Liaise with parents and carers regarding children’s physical development and involvement in extracurricular activities. Ensure the effective use of sports equipment and resources, maintaining a safe and inspiring environment for physical activities. Keep up-to-date with current trends in PE and school sport, sharing best practices with colleagues. Essential Skills & Experience: A passion for physical education and sport with experience of working with primary-aged children. A strong understanding of the National Curriculum for PE and how to deliver it effectively. Experience in organising and leading extracurricular sports clubs or events. Ability to inspire and motivate students to engage in physical activity and develop a love for sport. Excellent communication and organisational skills. Experience in a primary school setting is desirable, but not essential. A positive and proactive approach, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Desirable: Previous experience in a sports coaching or physical education role. A relevant qualification in sports, PE, or a related field (e.g. Level 2/3 Coaching Certificate, Sports Science degree, etc.).
