Production Planner
Alexir is a pioneering Employee-Owned Business that works closely with their customers to help solve their packaging and supply chain challenges through increasing their speed to market with innovative eye-catching packaging design and manufacture.
Our mission is to deliver end-to-end packaging solutions, and as our business continues to grow, we are seeking a Production Planner to support this expansion. In this role you will be responsible for coordinating and optimising production schedules to ensure the timely and cost-effective manufacturing of printed packaging.
This role requires strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to work collaboratively with production, sales and supply chain teams.
We are looking for an individual who is self-motivated and has a positive attitude with plenty of drive.
Key Responsibilities
Production Scheduling & Planning
1. Develop and maintain detailed production schedules based on customer orders, stock levels and machine capacity.
2. Ensure production deadlines are met while optimising machine efficiency and minimising downtime.
3. Monitor work-in-progress and adjust schedules as needed to meet changing demands.
Coordination & Communication
1. Work closely with sales, procurement and production teams to align scheduling with raw material availability and customer requirements.
2. Provide regular updates to stakeholders regarding production status and potential delays.
Process Improvement & Efficiency
1. Identify opportunities to improve production processes and reduce waste.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
1. Experience in print packaging, lithographic printing, or digital printing preferred.
2. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
3. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
4. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
6. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Education & Experience:
1. 2+ years of experience in production planning, preferably in the print packaging industry.
