Premises Maintenance Operative – Required for April 2025
We are looking for a committed and motivated Premises Maintenance Operative (Caretaker) to join our site team. This position will assist with the care of the academy premises, ranging from general maintenance duties including minor repair and refurbishment works, porterage, and other duties, supporting the current team in ensuring the health and safety and security of the site.
Applicants need to be trustworthy, reliable, hardworking, physically fit, conscientious, and able to work independently as well as part of a team. Ideally, you will have good DIY skills; basic plumbing experience would be an advantage as well as some knowledge of health and safety. Full induction will be provided, with the successful applicant initially shadowing the team/shifts until comfortable and trained in the site processes.
Hours are 37 per week; however, as an employer who embraces flexible working, we are happy to accept applications from those also looking for part-time or job share.
The site team operates a shift system on a rotating basis: 6.00am – 2pm, 7.30am – 3.30pm, or 11am - 7pm (inclusive of a 30-minute lunch break). Hours may be varied depending upon need. One day per week will be an early finish of 30 minutes, as advised. You will be required to work one in three Saturdays. Hours are 8.30 am – 4.00 pm (with a Friday being granted in lieu).
27 days annual leave plus bank holidays (rising to 29 days after 5 years continuous service). (20% of which can be taken during term time – subject to line management agreement).
Salary: MNS Ranges 6/7. Currently £25,127.00 - £30,763.00 per annum (depending upon experience).
