Job Title: New Business Director
Posted by: Jonathan Tassell, Director
Opportunity to work with a leader who helped a firm grow from £5m to £80m revenue in 10 years! Our fast-growth tech training business is expanding rapidly and looking for a New Business Director to drive business development, sales, and account growth.
We're seeking a Business Development / Sales Executive for a market-leading technology training and consulting team. You will work closely with a leader who has a proven track record in the data business.
The focus for the New Sales Director will be within banking or insurance; a network in either or both sectors is essential for this role. If you are a more junior candidate, please send us your CV, and we will consider you for other roles within the team.
With an excellent reputation for providing tech training and learning solutions to banks, financial services businesses, and the wider industry, our client has spent 15 years building its brand and is at a pivotal point in its development, given the boom in AI and new technologies. The firm currently has 45 employees and has experienced double-digit growth over the past three years.
The business 'upskills' workforces through projects and programmes of learning for critical technology skills such as coding languages, cyber security, cloud computing, software development, and design thinking. Contracts can range from £500K for running Morgan Stanley's tech training recruitment for new joiners to £100K for working with the leadership of a major financial services business to help embed GenAI into their development teams.
We are looking for candidates with:
1. 5-10+ years of sales expertise, with examples of account planning, strategy, and a proven record of achieving sales targets.
2. Relationship-based/consultative sales experience, crafting and curating sales delivery to a wide array of stakeholders (this is not hard selling).
3. Knowledge of selling to large banks would be a significant advantage, along with an understanding of the different divisions and products offered by a large bank.
4. A passion for technology, ideally with experience in the mentioned disciplines and an understanding of technology training terminology.
5. Motivation to work for a small business and drive broader company growth; candidates open to leadership roles earlier in their careers will find opportunities to run accounts, campaigns, and be highly visible within the company.
You will need to be in London 1-2 days per week for this role.
Salary: £75-95K base + 30-50% bonus (uncapped, this is average)
