Overview
The Business Finance Team partners with the functions across Dunelm, to:
* Produce timely and accurate weekly and monthly reports and insight to inform trading and operational control and decision making.
* Set targets (in conjunction with business) and provide independent view of forecasts and trends.
* Hold business to account to deliver to targets and manage risks and opportunities.
* Support and challenge tactical and strategic decision making, including financial appraisal (and post investment appraisal).
* Agitate for improving profitability and return on investment, and for best use of our resources.
As Finance Manager for the business functions you partner, you are responsible for providing support and challenge to your business partners, whilst also ensuring that all requirements for the Dunelm Finance function are delivered.
This role will provide finance partnering to transformation programmes across these strategic pillars. Responsibilities will include:
* Robust appraisal and challenge of opportunities, including investment metrics and assessing relative benefits and scenarios.
* Presentation of business cases to senior stakeholders.
* Identification of opportunities for investment and support on mitigation of risks.
* Tracking of project spend and updated view of benefits, and performing post investment appraisal.
* Holding business stakeholders to account for delivery of both activities and benefits.
What we look for in you:
* Adapting finance support to new and different projects and varied stakeholder needs.
* Line management or indirect coaching and mentoring experience.
* Commercially minded, with a genuine drive to make a difference and support Dunelm to achieve its growth and profitability targets.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to condense complex information into clear messages to gain understanding.
* A good relationship builder, building trust with key stakeholders.
* Equally comfortable in the high level as the detailed and accurate and able to flex approach based on the circumstances.
* Experience in investment appraisal and metrics and in tracking of project spend and benefits.
* Strong Excel skills, able to use various sources of information to draw trends and highlight risks or areas of focus.
* Comfortable with ambiguity and changing priorities.
* Improvement mindset, seeking out better ways to perform processes or improve outcomes.
* Finance qualified (CIMA, ACA, ACCA).
