The NHS Lothian Primary Care Pharmacy and Medicines Service is undergoing an ambitious programme of transformation and integration. West Lothian Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP) are looking for a dynamic, highly motivated and enthusiastic pharmacy technician, to take forward key prescribing initiatives within NHS Lothian GP practices. Working with the Primary Care Pharmacy team, GPs, other healthcare professionals and practice staff, this job will provide an exciting and challenging opportunity to optimise prescribing and medicines management in GP practices across West Lothian.
With a National Certificate in Pharmaceutical Sciences or equivalent Pharmacy Technician qualification and current registration as a pharmacy technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council, you will possess excellent communication and organisational skills.
Primary care experience is not essential as training will be fully supported but experience of working with GPs would be an advantage.
Key aspects of this role will involve implementation and participation in pharmacotherapy work-streams such as medicines reconciliation and prescription management in a Pharmacotherapy Hub and/or GP practice.
