Exam Invigilator
Part Time (Casual)
Start Date: May 2025
Salary: Competitive
Mount House School is a co-educational Independent Day School for students aged 11 to 18, set in and around a Grade II listed mansion near Barnet on the outskirts of North London.
We are currently looking for enthusiastic and organised people to work as part-time, casual invigilators during our busy summer exam period. You will report to the Exams Officer and the Assistant Head (Academic), who will offer training and guidance before you start the role. We are looking for people who are able to work in what can be a stressful environment with a great deal of calm and empathy. The role involves distributing exam papers, dealing with candidates’ queries, supervising candidates at all times, completing and signing attendance registers and checking seating plans. You may also be required to act as a reader and/or scribe, so excellent spoken/written English is essential.
Applicants must be well-organised, efficient and diligent.
Our Invigilators work on a casual basis, as and when required by the School. The number of hours of work available for each period of exams across the year will vary and cannot be guaranteed.
If you would like to be considered for invigilation work at the school, please complete the Casual Worker Application Form which can be found on the Mount House School website:
Please e-mail application forms to: careers@mounthouse.org.uk
The closing date for applications is 09:00 am on Friday 14 February 2025.
Applications will be considered on receipt and interviews may occur at any stage. Please note that CVs alone will not be accepted and we reserve the right to close this advert early if we are able to appoint enough invigilators before the advertised closing date.
Mount House School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff, volunteers and other third parties to share this commitment. Safer recruitment practice and pre-employment background checks will be undertaken before any appointment is confirmed.
