The Role We are seeking an experienced Senior Web Developer to join our team. Your Responsibilities: Project Leadership Lead web development projects from concept to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget. Work closely with stakeholders to define project requirements, timelines, and key deliverables. Provide technical direction and mentorship to the development team throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring all goals align with the business strategy. Code Review and Quality Assurance Review and approve code written by other developers, ensuring it meets industry standards for quality, performance, and security. Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve code issues, optimising for scalability, and maintainability. Establish and enforce coding best practices, ensuring rigorous testing and deployment processes are followed. Backend Development and Laravel Expertise Design, develop, and maintain efficient and scalable backend systems using Laravel. Create robust APIs and integrate third-party services to enhance application functionality. Stay up to date with Laravel features, and best practices, sharing relevant insights with the development team. Team Collaboration and Mentorship Collaborate closely with front-end developers, designers, and project managers to ensure seamless integration of backend systems. Deployment and Maintenance Oversee the deployment process to ensuring smooth transitions from development to production environments. Monitor live systems regularly, proactively resolving issues to maintain optimal system performance. Implement and manage version control systems and CI/CD pipelines to streamline development and deployment worklows. Person Specification: Essential Advanced proficiency in PHP, MySQL, 3rd Party API's and Laravel, with experience designing scalable backend systems. A strong focus on writing clean, maintainable, and secure code. Proven ability to manage tasks and assign responsibilities effectively across a development team. Problem solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues. Excellent communication skills for working with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. At least 6 years of experience in web development, with a proven track record of successful projects using Laravel. Desirable Experience in Laravel to lead and contribute effectively to Laravel-specific projects. Experience with frontend technologies (e.g., JavaScript, Vue.js) for seamless collaboration with frontend teams. Strong knowledge of database management (e.g., MySQL) and optimisation techniques.
