Our client, a leading company in the engineering sector, is currently seeking a Senior Hardware Electronics Engineer to join their team. This permanent role offers the chance to work within highly regulated industries such as nuclear, medical, automotive, and aerospace. As a site-based Senior Hardware Electronics Engineer, you will develop and implement safety-critical technology. Working with prestigious customers, you will face challenging and rewarding tasks within a supportive team of dedicated engineers and leaders.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the Hardware Electronics team for projects
Act as an independent reviewer of electronic designs and supporting lifecycle documentation
Capture, develop, and validate hardware requirements
Design, analyse, implement, and verify electronic circuits according to defined specifications
Document design activities, ensuring traceability and adherence to project, company, and regulatory standards
Generate, perform, and validate hardware verification plans and procedures
Collaborate with Systems, Software, and Mechanical disciplines to meet hardware requirements
Contribute to the development of system architectures considering alternative concepts and trade studies
Support system qualification and hardware/software integration activities
Assist in production NPI activities and resolve component obsolescence issues
Assist Project Managers with plans, estimates, task lists, and risk management plans
Follow robust configuration control, review, and change management processes
Job Requirements:
Degree in Electronic Engineering or equivalent
Experience in hardware electronic engineering
Proficiency in:
Design of high integrity/safety-critical circuitry
Design of microcontroller-based circuitry
Design of digital interface circuitry using SPI/I2C/CAN/MIPI/DDR
Design of analogue signal measurement/conditioning circuitry
Design of low voltage power supplies and power switching techniques
Design for lightning and voltage transient protection
Design for EMC/EMI
Experience in leading teams of electronic engineers
Experience in de-rating, reliability prediction analysis, and FMEA
Experience in electronic hardware verification and test procedure generation/execution
Understanding of configuration control and change management
Ability to drive and manage PCB layout through subcontractors
Awareness of embedded software to support HW/SW integration
Excellent communication skills and ability to compile reports to make data-driven decisions
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise duties with minimal supervisionPlease note: This position does not offer sponsorship.
