Metrology 3D Modeler

The Metrology 3D Modeler is proficient in cleaning, aligning, and registering raw point cloud data to ensure accuracy. Responsibilities include:
1. Using point cloud data to build 3D models in CAD software, including walls, floors, ceilings, and other architectural elements.
2. Identifying and extracting specific features from the point cloud like edges, corners, and surfaces.
3. Converting point clouds into Building Information Models (BIM) for further analysis and collaboration.
4. Checking the accuracy and completeness of generated 3D models against the original point cloud.
Location - Kincardine, ON
Your role within the team:
* Proficient in point cloud processing, familiar with software such as Cyclone Register, AutoCAD Recap & FARO Scene.
* CAD modeling in various software: Cyclone 3DR, SolidWorks, Unreal Engine, AutoCAD.
* Geometric and spatial awareness, ability to interpret complex point cloud data and translate it into accurate 3D models.
* Able to work in a fast-paced environment requiring multitasking, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
* Attention to detail, high level of precision needed for accurate model creation.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with team members, internal customers, and suppliers.

The ideal candidate:
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree.
* CAD software operation in various software (Point Cloud, 3D Modeling & Game Development).
* Previous experience in point cloud and laser tracker/scanner use would be an asset.
* Basic coordinate frame knowledge.
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
* Software coding and scripting skills.
* Good communication and organizational skills.

o Customers, suppliers.
o Project Managers, project personnel, estimating personnel.
o Trades personnel.
* Physical demands:
o Various work locations in both field and office.
o Travel as necessary.
