About the role
Marketplace is a brand-new online venture for Tesco, designed to give our customers the opportunity to use our website to shop for a wide range of third-party products in addition to the groceries they already know and love. Our initial focus will be on pet food, health and beauty products and alcohol, and as with other online marketplaces, sellers will fulfil orders directly. Join us on this exciting new journey, and you’ll be a key member of a hardworking, collaborative team that’s delivering on our promise to serve our customers, communities and the planet a little better every day.
As someone who is creative and good at solving problems, you will be an innovative business developer. The key to the Marketplace team’s success will be its ability to work with many other teams in the wider Tesco family, including Finance, Digital Product and Online Operations. No two days will be the same as you become a specialist in your area of the Marketplace model. We’re building Tesco’s future, and it’s a future crafted by you.
You will be responsible for
* Bring our exciting Marketplace strategy to life as you identify, engage, recruit and handle a group of high-quality third-party sellers
* Use a data-driven approach to support sellers in line with our range offer strategy
* Use your outstanding delivery skills as you lead all aspects of the very best in customer service
* Support with new product areas that will enable Marketplace to grow and thrive
* Support our sellers to handle their accounts successfully and achieve positive commercial outcomes
* Leading pipeline of sellers across all categories via HubSpot. HubSpot knowledge is a plus, but not required
You will need
* Strong commercial competence
* You’ll be pitching to sellers, and handling partners, so you’ll have excellent communication and influencing skills
* Superb programme and project management skills
* The ability to use your analytical skills support with forecasting and target delivery
* An understanding of online business models and economics

* Annual bonus scheme of up to 10% of base salary
