The Company
This is an opportunity to join a small and growing Technology practice in Bedford. It is an entry-level position to further develop commercial and technical skills that lead to more responsibility.
We are a consultancy for managed IT & Voice services covering:
* IT systems installation and support for servers, PCs/laptops/tablets, emails, printers etc.
* Networks, routers, broadband, Wifi
* Telephony and VoIP services
* Many related services like backup, cloud storage and antivirus
* Related services like engineering, CCTV, door control, audio visual.
Clients range from startups to multi-site groups in the Home Counties and beyond. The market is fast moving and challenging, with emerging trends in Cloud Computing and Converged Solutions.
Consulting and problem-solving skills add a further dimension, requiring expertise across multiple technologies, as well as judgment and tact in delivering the right advice and solution.
We are entering a new phase of growth and looking for ambitious individuals who have the capacity to work in a stimulating environment and to progress their career.
The work is varied, ranging from client care, processing of new orders, remote support, project installations, billing for managed services, website, sales and marketing.
The Position

Working Hours:
Monday – Friday 9am to 6pm
£12,000 with performance reviews at 6-month intervals
Role and Responsibilities:
The position involves installation and support to clients for the full range of Voice and related services, e.g., billing, cabling & engineering, internet and networking, mobile contracts and phones, cost-reduction, strategy, project management.
We only work with leading suppliers in the industry who can offer the highest levels of quality, flexibility, reliability and continuous innovation.
You will carry out first line support (jointly) for existing services, manage new orders and assist with new installations. As such you will need to be comfortable with many aspects of technology.
Training will be formal and on-the-job shadowing and learning.
You will also assist with quotes and proposals, website and online marketing. Business development is planned through various channels such as online and offline marketing, newsletters, exhibitions, social media, etc.
You will need to develop professional communication skills and a confident, outgoing manner to build relationships at all levels including decision makers. Although the key focus for this role is Voice, IT is an integral part of the core service portfolio and basic IT skills are required for career progression.
Operating within a consulting business model requires a high level of expertise, professionalism and integrity, as well as ongoing skills development.
These include:
* Sound analytical, structured thinking skills, to ensure excellent service delivery and reliability.
* Good presentation, telephone manner and communication skills – both written and verbal – with ability to handle client relationships and express ideas clearly.
* Self-starter with ‘can-do’ attitude, able to learn quickly about new services in Voice, use them and provide client training.
* Capable of working within a team and independently.
* Good academic grades, including English and Maths. Computer literacy incl. MS Office (Outlook, Excel and Word), typing speed etc.
* Some knowledge of Accounts and billing (training will be provided).
- GCSE or A level together with relevant ICT experience and/or certifications
- Induction and on-the-job training will be provided
Package
• Standard office hours are from 9am to 5pm and overtime is required for certain projects or deadlines
• Travel to clients is required; own transport would be useful but not essential at the start.
