Regional Development Manager - Midlands (Remote)

About the Role
As our new Regional Development Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and guiding a team of up to 10 Partnership Managers within their designated territory, in this case, the midlands. The role involves strategic leadership, driving growth, and fostering strong relationships with Multi-Academy Trusts (MATs) and local authorities. You will ensure the achievement of sales targets, the development of the sales team, and the delivery of exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Team Leadership and Management:
o Lead, mentor, and develop a team of c.10 Partnership Managers to achieve their sales targets. Conduct regular performance reviews, provide feedback, and implement development plans for team members.
2. Strategic Planning:
o Develop and execute a regional sales strategy in alignment with overall company objectives.
o Identify growth opportunities and set clear goals for the sales team.
o Monitor and analyse sales performance metrics to ensure the team meets or exceeds sales targets.
o Implement corrective actions and strategies to address performance gaps.
3. Relationship Management:
o Foster strong relationships with key decision-makers in MATs and local authorities across the region.
o Support Partnership Managers in building and maintaining these relationships.
4. Market Analysis and Insights:
o Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences.
o Share insights and recommendations with the sales and product development teams.
o Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Sales Effectiveness, Strategic Accounts, Sales Operations, and customer support, to ensure cohesive service and sales delivery.
o Facilitate collaboration between Partnership Managers and other departments.
5. Forecasting and Reporting:
o Prepare accurate sales forecasts for designated region.
o Maintain accurate and timely records of sales activities, pipeline status, and performance metrics.
o Prepare and present regular sales reports and forecasts to senior management.
6. Training and Development:
o Ensure ongoing training and development for the sales team to enhance their skills and product knowledge.
o Stay updated on the latest educational products and services offered by the company.
Please note that this role is covering the midlands, and the successful candidate will need to be home based in territory. We envisage travel on a weekly basis in this position, with regular trips to the office for team meetings.
About You
* Strong leadership and team management skills. Ability to inspire and motivate a sales team.
* Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth. Strong negotiation, presentation, and closing skills.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to build rapport and influence stakeholders at all levels.
* Ability to analyse market trends, customer needs, and sales data to inform decision-making.
* Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
* Strong time management and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
* Extensive experience in sales management, preferably within the education sector. Experience working with MATs and local authorities is highly desirable.
* A deep understanding of customer needs and a commitment to delivering high-quality solutions.
