Fundraising To develop a Fundraising and Marketing Plan for the Charity, with the support of the Head of Charity, to outline the Charitys approach towards individual giving, community fundraising, challenge events, staff fundraising, legacy giving and corporate giving To implement the agreed Fundraising Plan, working towards agreed financial targets to maximise fundraising income for the Charity To develop and deliver a community fundraising stewardship programme, ensuring a positive, donor-focused approach for the Charitys supporters To liaise with community fundraisers and ensure they are supported in their fundraising efforts, are offered all appropriate collateral, and are thanked appropriately for their contributions To manage and promote challenge fundraising opportunities, such as charity running places at Cardiff Half Marathon, and to ensure a professional and engaging stewardship process for fundraisers To establish and deliver specific schemes, with the support of the Head of Charity, to encourage corporate donations, legacy giving and in-memory donations To encourage, support and monitor fundraising by WASTs staff and volunteers; to give support and advice where needed; and to ensure funds are collected and paid to the Charity in an appropriate and timely manner To lead on the development of a supporter database / CRM, and maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial and supporter records, whilst ensuring GDPR compliance To identity and develop new sources of sustainable income for the Charity, considering Return on Investment of any expenditure To support the Head of Charity by compiling evidence of impact and writing case studies, to help support grant applications and subsequent project reporting Communications To increase the profile of the Charity by recognising the achievements of community fundraisers, and to demonstrate the impact of charitable spending, through strategic communications To research, write and publish positive stories and case studies from fundraisers, and from beneficiaries of charitable funding, to use throughout external and internal communications channels To arrange, attend and manage external photo calls with community fundraisers, staff and beneficiaries To ensure the Charitys external web pages, and internal communications channels, are up-to-date, and are regularly updated with interesting content and stories to increase the profile of the Charity To lead on marketing campaigns for the Charitys events, challenge fundraising campaigns and appeals, ensuring all financial targets are met To develop and commission promotional materials as required from external partners such as graphic designers, merchandise manufacturers or web designers To lead on promoting the Charitys impact internally to staff, including driving staff engagement in internal grant schemes and project participation To lead on future development of a new Charity website, new Charity social media accounts and/or other digital platforms as required, following consultation with the Trusts Communications team To write and issue press releases to showcase the Charitys positive impact, in partnership with the Trusts communications team To support grant-holders to properly acknowledge the Charitys support, ensuring staff and beneficiaries are aware of how the Charity benefits them To represent the Charity, and to give presentations, at community fundraising events, community group meetings, and staff roadshows To establish agreed information governance procedures surrounding the use of supporter data, including direct email marketing with the consent of donors Charity Governance To provide written reports on fundraising and communications activity to the Head of Charity and to the Charity Committee To support the Head of Charity with the overall governance of the Charity, including the distribution of funds and monitoring of grant awards To develop agreed procedures for cash handling, banking, donor acknowledgement and receipts, in accordance with best practice and legislation, and to advise staff and volunteers on these procedures To work closely with the Trusts finance team, focusing on providing a positive, donor-focused experience To ensure all activity conducted on behalf of the Charity meets all legal and ethical standards, meeting the Fundraising Regulators Code of Fundraising Practice, GDPR regulations, and WASTs own finance and governance standards To ensure all external communications are compliant with WASTs Welsh Language Policies To build positive relationships with colleagues across other NHS charities, NHS Charities Together and other potential donor bodies, and to exchange knowledge and experience for mutual benefit To work independently to achieve set targets and objectives, and assessing the best way to achieve these goals, with guidance and support from the Head of Charity, and from peers across other NHS charities To support and supervise the activities of volunteer fundraisers, and to provide guidance on policy and procedure
