About the Role
We are looking for a Site Maintenance Assistant who is practical, reliable, and ready to roll up their sleeves to help maintain our school. You’ll play a key role in ensuring our facilities are safe, secure, and well-kept, creating a great environment for students, staff, and visitors.
Hours of Work: Shifts will fall between 6:00 am and 8:00 pm, Monday to Friday, with a rotating pattern of early and later shifts.
What You’ll Be Doing:
1. Carrying out a variety of general maintenance and repair tasks, including basic plumbing, electrical work, and general handyman duties (no formal sign-off required).
2. Conducting routine inspections to identify and resolve issues before they escalate.
3. Assisting with the setup and takedown of equipment for school events.
4. Responding to maintenance requests efficiently to keep the school running smoothly.
5. Helping to maintain outdoor spaces, including general tidying and basic landscaping.
6. Keeping tools and supplies organised, ensuring everything is in place for the job.
What We’re Looking For:
1. Experience in maintenance, repairs, or a trade.

4. A team player who can also work independently when needed.
5. Bonus: If you have a specific skill set in plumbing, electrics, painting & decorating, or another trade, this would be highly valued.

Minimum Requirements:
1. Experience: Previous experience in maintenance, repair work, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
2. Technical Skills: Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and carpentry work will be an advantage.
3. Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently to resolve maintenance issues.
4. Attention to Detail: Meticulous when completing maintenance tasks to ensure safety and quality.
5. Physical Fitness: Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
6. Communication: Good interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with staff and understand maintenance needs.
7. Flexibility: Willingness to respond to emergency maintenance needs as they arise.
