Key Responsibilities: Plan, deliver, and evaluate engaging Sociology lessons for Key Stage 4 and (potentially) A-Level students in line with the National Curriculum and exam board specifications, incorporating the school's Catholic ethos. Foster a love of learning and encourage students to explore sociological concepts and theories with curiosity and enthusiasm. Develop and implement innovative curriculum initiatives that align with the school's vision and the latest advancements in Sociology education. Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and challenged to reach their full potential. Build positive and supportive relationships with students, promoting a growth mindset and a belief in their ability to understand the social world. Play an active role in the department, including contributing to curriculum development, assessment strategies, and departmental meetings. The Ideal Candidate: A qualified Sociology Teacher with a demonstrable track record of success in engaging students and fostering their understanding of sociological concepts and theories. Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for Sociology, with a strong understanding of sociological research methods, major sociological perspectives, and key areas of study. Strong pedagogical skills with the ability to deliver innovative and effective lessons that cater to diverse learning styles. A commitment to high standards and the ability to create a positive, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
