The role is full time and long term and will be for the whole of the academic year. The school are looking for a hard working and determined individual who has a background in education / pastoral work or social work. The perfect candidate will have experience working with children who are vulnerable, children who have SEN or SEMH, and may have been within the care system. The ideal candidate will need excellent interpersonal and communication skills, the desire and ability to make a difference and a confident yet nurturing personality. If so, please read on below to find out further information JOB DESCRIPTION Family Liaison and Wellbeing Officer Working in a Primary School To be the first point of call for safeguarding concerns Working with Childrens Social Care and outside agencies Attending safeguarding meetings Working alongside the attendance team to monitor attendance and punctuality Providing emotional support and mentoring schemes to vulnerable pupils Providing behavioural support for key children Planning and delivering workshops for parents and family members Providing guidance related to family functioning and parental skills Signposting to outside agencies to provide appropriate support for children & families Working with the SLT to foster a positive partnership between school & home life Provide intervention support for key pupils Long Term and Full Time Starting ASAP £28k - £29k Located in the Borough of Tower Hamlets PERSON SPECIFICATION GCSEs in Maths and English Experience of working with children in a Primary Setting Pastoral experience / safeguarding experience is advantageous SEN / SEMH experience Experience with looked after children is advantageous Excellent communication skills Ability to work with outside agencies & signpost concerns Confident, personable, and determined in nature Effective behaviour management skills DBS A background in education / safeguarding / social work De-escalation strategies and techniques Eager to support children and their families to make a difference SCHOOL DETAILS Graded OUTSTANDING by Ofsted Excellent CPD opportunities Friendly and supportive Primary School Fantastic team of Teachers and support staff Located in the Borough of Tower Hamlets Good Transport links Access by Tube, road & Rail We are dedicated to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect all staff to share this commitment.
