Graduate Civil Engineer
Location: Woodstock, Oxford
Carrington West are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a driven and personable Graduate Civil Engineer to join our client's expanding civil engineering team in north Oxford. Located in the picturesque grounds of Blenheim Palace, this role provides the chance to work on high-profile projects across diverse sectors, including infrastructure, automotive, commercial, Formula 1, and international projects.
About the Role
You'll be joining a well-established consultancy where you'll collaborate with a range of disciplines (civil, structural, architectural, building services, etc.), contributing to prestigious projects with values reaching several hundred million pounds. With a focus on high-value construction, this role offers significant exposure to infrastructure projects, including active travel initiatives. Our client's team brings expertise in flood risk management, highway design, sustainable drainage systems, and more. As part of your responsibilities, you'll assist in delivering various civil engineering services under the guidance of Senior Civil Engineers and Associate Engineers, gaining support to work toward chartership.
Key Responsibilities
1. Collaborate effectively with teams and clients
2. Work independently under the guidance of senior team members
3. Assist with project delivery
4. Develop flood risk assessments (FRAs) and drainage strategies
5. Design highways, earthworks, and drainage systems
6. Create civil engineering drawings and layouts
7. Work efficiently to meet project deadlines
8. Prepare design calculations, specifications, and reports
9. Participate in technical issue resolution and problem-solving
Qualifications & Experience
1. Degree in Civil Engineering (BEng/MEng)
2. Relevant experience in a similar role (desirable)
3. Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D (desirable)
4. Knowledge of InfoDrainage (desirable)
5. Understanding of Highway and Drainage section agreements (38, 278, and 104)
