Job summary The Maternity Quality and Patient Safety Team are seeking a knowledgeable and motivated midwife to join our busy and friendly team. The role can be based in either York or Scarborough but will cover the maternity services at both sites. Working hours can be flexible and can be combined with clinical shifts if required. We have 2 roles available and these can be based at either site. One is for 37.5 hours per week and one is for 18.75 hours a week. We are delighted to be able to offer a range of roles within the maternity department across the Trust following additional investment to enhance services. Interviews will take place the week commencing the 17th March 2025. Main duties of the job As a Quality and Patient Safety Midwife, the post holder will take responsibility for leading the maternity aspect of any investigations of significant events and patient safety incidents, producing and monitoring action plans that take place across the maternity and neonatal services, across both sites. Therewill be an expectation that you will provide support and information for staff to learn from incidents, taking into consideration human factors and the SEIPS methodology as described in the NHS Patient Safety Incident Response Framework. The role will provide assurance that change in practice has been embedded to reduce the risk of re-occurrence.
