Working in the 30 bedded Acute Surgical Admissions ward here within the Surgical Care group at Southampton University Hospital (UHS) Trust. We are keen to support, invest and challenge you and have in place a career pathway which includes Surgical study days and bespoke work based learning for Surgical Nursing which we offer at MSC level, in addition you will be offered opportunities to develop both clinically and professionally within our supportive environment To be in charge of a 30 bedded ward. Attend multiple doctors ward rounds and disseminate information to the ward staff. Meet with the MDT (Multi-disciplinary team) to discuss safe discharges of patients. Manage bed flow Manage a team of staff, to complete their appraisal, learning objectives, link roles, look after student nurses on the ward. To manage and deal with complaints at ward level. To be an advocate for patients- skin integrity, work alongside therapy team, discharge team Shift pattern- Early 07:30-15:30.
