About the Role
Base Location: Havant, Reading or Perth
Salary: £63,000 - £94,400 + car allowance + performance-related bonus and a range of other benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

This role will provide technical leadership and strategic vision to establish a Centre of Excellence capable of achieving delivery of our Identity and Access Management (IAM) strategy.
Able to collaborate at all levels, the Lead Cloud Identity Engineer must also be able to work across a diverse group of stakeholders and manage priorities to maximise the value delivered by the team, partnering with Product Owners to optimise scheduling and turn-around of the team’s backlog.
In partnership with the Group Architecture functions, the Lead keeps the overall technical roadmap, architecture runway and foundation design for Identity in compliance with SSE standards and industry best practice. Collectively, the team supports and continually develops the platform to maintain serviceability, availability, and reliability on a secure foundation.
Key responsibilities for this role will include:
1. Plan, develop and maintain the organisation's IAM strategy and roadmap, aligning IAM initiatives with business objectives and security requirements.
2. Identify, mature and develop enhancements to existing IAM policies, processes and standards, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
3. Provide technology governance, overseeing the selection, implementation, and maintenance of IAM technologies, drive the integration of IAM solutions with existing IT infrastructure, ensuring continuity of existing IAM processes.
4. Support health and hygiene deliverables to reduce Operational risk across the core platforms such as Active Directory domains and address critical platform obsolescence.
5. Support strategic vision to modernise Identity and Access Management within SSE, delivering enhancement controls and greater governance for Privileged Access Management.
What do I need?
To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:
1. Deep understanding of Identity and Access Management concepts, technologies or directory services, spanning the adoption and use of solutions such as Microsoft EntraID, Okta or Ping.
2. Hands-on experience with prominent cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, including implementation of authentication, authorisation and security controls.
3. Practical experience and familiarity with identity governance and administration (IGA) concepts.
4. Knowledge of privileged access management (PAM) sufficient to facilitate and monitor the success of PAM requirements, projects and vendor selection.
5. Security Expertise, covering a deep understanding of cloud security principles and best practices. This includes knowledge of identity and access management (IAM), encryption, network security groups or PAM.
