As a dedicated and experienced HSEQ Manager, you will lead and deliver the Group's Health, Safety, Environmental & Quality (HSEQ) policies, ensuring the effectiveness of our Integrated Management System (IMS) and maintaining compliance with statutory, client, and company requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide expert guidance on all aspects of HSEQ to the Leadership team and engage staff at all levels.
* Promote a culture of HSEQ best practice by attending operational sites and facilities, driving regulatory compliance.
* Set and manage company targets for HSEQ improvement, ensuring effective action plans.
* Oversee the management, review, and alignment of all HSEQ strategies and policies with company values.
* Actively promote and monitor good practices in all areas of HSEQ, ensuring compliance with relevant standards.
Health and Safety:
* Ensure all Health and Safety processes comply with legislation and industry standards.
* Lead the promotion of health and safety practices across the company through initiatives and projects.
* Act as the group representative in external investigations, as needed.
* Foster a 'Safety First' culture by ensuring all incidents and near misses are reported, investigated, and addressed.
* Lead the Health & Safety Committee, ensuring completion of all action points.
* Oversee systems and procedures to ensure adherence to Health and Safety policies across the business.
* Support the management of close calls and near misses across all Group business units.
* Mentor key staff to take ownership of their HSEQ responsibilities.
* Manage training programmes for First Aiders and other relevant HSEQ roles.
* Conduct regular and unannounced site visits to ensure compliance.
* Ensure that proper risk assessment and management systems are in place across all activities.
Quality & Environmental Management:
* Lead the continuous improvement of management systems and ensure understanding across all functional departments.
* Manage third-party auditors for RISQ and BSI, ensuring timely resolution of any issues raised.
* Implement and manage a regular audit programme to evaluate HSEQ performance.
* Conduct regular compliance meetings with the Leadership team and produce management reports on HSEQ performance.
Requirements:
* NEBOSH and IOSH qualifications are essential.
* Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role, ideally within the Rail industry.
* Experience in managing Health & Safety across worksites, including manufacturing and depot environments.
* In-depth understanding of HSE legislation, systems, and industry audits.
* Proven track record of delivering HSE improvements and managing complex HSEQ issues.
* Excellent organisational, communication, and time management skills.
* Ability to work to demanding deadlines and implement change across the business.
