Band 6 role is subject to the trust probation process. For those that do not have EPAS competencies, essential achievement of these is required to meet the needs of the role.
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Early Pregnancy Assessment Service (EPAS) for a Registered Nurse. This position is part-time based at The Princess Royal Hospital, Telford, but will be expected to work cross-site once competencies have been met.
Working within a small team, the successful applicant will have an interest in complications of early pregnancy and making a difference in patient care for ladies who may be going through an emotional and distressing time.
Responsibilities:
1. Provide a dedicated service to women and their families who experience pregnancy-related problems up to 16 weeks gestation.
2. Provide highly sensitive information about options of care to women who have miscarried, have a non-viable pregnancy, ectopic pregnancy, or trophoblastic pregnancy.
3. Provide reassurance and ongoing support to women who have pain/bleeding with a viable pregnancy.
4. Interpret blood tests and scan reports for early diagnosis of ectopic pregnancy.
5. Request blood tests.
6. Work autonomously across both sites.
You will be required to work with the Lead EPAS Nurse, Lead EPAS Consultant, and Clinical Nurse Specialists within the team, ensuring all Trust targets are achieved with patient safety being a priority.
