We are looking for an enthusiastic, flexible, and motivated individual with a willingness to learn to join our Community Based Therapy Service.
The role requires the applicant to have a knowledge of the storage, issue, adjustment and fitting of small items of equipment, assessment and / or observation of safe use, maintenance of stock held within the team's satellite store and to ensure that procedures are followed to maintain the integrity of the Infection Control and Health and Safety Policies in place.
You will be expected to work alternate weekends, with two non-working days during the week, and be on a rota to cover the service between the hours of 8am and 6pm with a second Team Assistant / Driver. This will also include some bank holiday working.
To contribute to an efficient service, prevent hospital admission, support Therapists with assessments by the timely provision of equipment and facilitate early hospital discharge working with both Social Care and Health Therapy Staff to help maintain people in their own homes.
Key requirements:
* Have an understanding of the equipment the Service provides e.g. mobility, bed, transfer and toileting.
* Have an awareness of and experience in a front-facing service to the general public.
* Full driving licence and ability to drive a large van.
* Physical ability to manually handle and lift equipment within safe working loads.
* You will also be comfortable liaising with different people and be confident using a computer.
