Job Description:
This is an exciting opportunity to join a vibrant multidisciplinary team, develop your special interest and psychiatry practice while having the best of what Devon offers. We welcome candidates wishing to work less than full time.
Candidates will be joining a CQC rated Good service, with a strong and established workforce of 15 Child Psychiatrists in Devon and Torbay. The service is particularly interested in modelling the job in line with the successful candidates special interest and working preference. Devon CAMHS is part of a wider Integrated service within Children and Family Health Devon, delivering a range of health, social and education services for children and young people.

This post will be based in Barnstaple, working with many consultants across. There will be opportunities for the candidate to develop their training and work across a number of pathways including Managing Mood and Emotions, Acute Care (Crisis team and Assertive Outreach Team), Eating Disorder Team.

Person Specification:
Clinical Skills and Clinical Knowledge
* Excellent clinical skills in interviewing and physical and psychological assessment of patients.
* Writing comprehensive, clear medical notes.
* Ability to manage crises and act independently.
* Ability to manage potentially violent and disturbed patients.
* Confidence in assessing and managing physical health problems and emergencies.
* Working knowledge of the Mental Health Act 1983.
Qualifications:
* MB BS or equivalent
* GMC registration.
Experience:
* Minimum of 3 years in basic psychiatric training, or
* Evidence of achievement of ST3/CT3 competences in a relevant specialty at time of application.
* Eligibility to work in the UK.
