Role Overview
As a Year 5 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher to support the learning and development of students. Your role will include:
- Providing individual and group support to students with a range of abilities, ensuring they are fully engaged and progressing in their learning.
- Assisting with lesson preparation and classroom management, ensuring a positive and productive learning environment.
- Supporting children with additional needs, both in and out of the classroom, with targeted interventions where necessary.
- Helping to monitor and assess pupils' progress, providing feedback to the class teacher and contributing to reports.
- Promoting a safe and inclusive learning environment, ensuring all students are supported emotionally and socially.
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:
- Proven experience as a Teaching Assistant, ideally with experience supporting Year 5 or Key Stage 2 students.
- A strong understanding of the National Curriculum and how to support children in meeting their learning objectives.
- Experience working with children with a range of learning needs, including SEN (Special Educational Needs), is desirable.
- The ability to build strong relationships with students, fostering a positive and supportive classroom environment.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A proactive, flexible, and enthusiastic approach to supporting learning.
