You’ll be joining a team of passionate teachers working to write and edit content for Twinkl’s Primary Maths Scheme. The majority of your time will be spent working with other Content Writers, Editors, Designers and Illustrators; engaging with product priorities to facilitate the highest possible quality of teacher content for our customers.
Ongoing projects/how you’ll spend your day:
* Creating new maths lesson pack resources (Powerpoint, Activity Sheet and Digital App questions) for the England Maths National Curriculum.
* Checking new maths lesson pack resources for curriculum relevance, consistency of tone of voice and branding, correct pitch and subject knowledge, and grammar and punctuation.
* Positively responding to feedback on your content from peers and your line manager relating to the quality and accuracy of your writing and editing.
* Working remotely and collaboratively alongside colleagues to ensure our maths resources are created to an excellent standard, attending daily team meetings to discuss work priorities.
* Demonstrating excellent communication skills with the writers, editors, designers and illustrators that you collaborate with.
To succeed in the role, you will:
* Have completed qualified teacher status: PGCE, B.Ed or equivalent.
* Have 2 years of full classroom teaching experience after QTS is complete.
* Be a confident practitioner in the delivery of the England Maths National Curriculum.
* Have training and teaching experience in the maths mastery approach to teaching and learning.
* Be a fantastic communicator who thrives when working in a close-knit team.
* Be able to work confidently within G Suite on a laptop or desktop computer.
In this role, you will learn:
* How to write and check resources to the highest quality and upload them to the Twinkl website.
* How to work in ‘agile’ teams, allowing you to solve problems and change tasks quickly to meet deadlines.
* How to apply your teaching experience to ensure we are making maths resources of the highest quality.
* How to use Project Tracking software as well as other in-house systems.
You’ll work with:
* Maths Education Leads (Lisa Tunnicliffe, Sally Cole & Becky Brown)
* Your own direct Line Manager
* Our team of qualified teachers who currently write, edit and produce content for maths.
* Our amazing in-house design and illustration teams, collaborating daily to produce the beautiful, polished resources that Twinkl is known for.
We're interested in anyone who meets one, or a combination of the following:
* Has taught maths across KS1 and KS2.
* Has detailed knowledge of the content of the Maths 2014 National Curriculum.
* Has led maths as a subject leader or co-ordinator.
* Has training and teaching experience in the maths mastery approach to teaching and learning.
