Overview: Our client, a global Insurance broker, is currently looking to hire a Data Lake Project Manager to join the team on a hybrid working contract basis. This would be an Outside IR35 role.
In this role, you will help drive forward some of the client's most challenging and exciting Data initiatives. As the ideal candidate, you will be an experienced Project Manager who will be a driving force for planning, managing, and executing multiple Data projects while meeting the project's goals on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead execution and maintenance of project plans and scope using standard tooling.
2. Responsible for project timings, budget, quality, and reporting.
3. Own the implementation of existing project delivery methods (process, standards, templates, reporting, etc.).
4. Identify risks, highlighting these to relevant parties in good time and ensuring mitigating action is taken.
5. Apply appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule, and costs.
6. Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation (e.g., PIDs, business cases, KPIs, etc.).
7. Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools, and techniques.
8. Support continuous improvement in project delivery practice.
9. Adopt industry best practices.
10. Lead an agile delivery team and interface with in-house developers and third-party suppliers.
11. Collaborate with the Portfolio Manager to maintain alignment and drive progress.
Skills & Attributes:
1. Experience of working as a Project Manager (preferably in a tech environment) or similar role (at least 5 years).
2. Experience in working on Data projects within a Data platform environment (understanding of Data, Data warehousing, and Data tools).
3. Demonstrable experience of large-scale technology project delivery throughout the whole lifecycle (from start-up to benefits realization).
4. Understanding general and legal principles of insurance (e.g., Law of Agency).
5. Understanding of London Market operations (Lloyds, IUA, LPSO, LPC, etc.).
6. Awareness of the regulatory environment and requirements including e.g., FCA rules, data protection, money laundering, specific standards of insureds' professional bodies.
7. Skilled at delivering highly complex solutions in the insurance sphere.
8. Consultative and collaborative.
9. Highly organized, with good planning/prioritization/time management skills.
10. Analytical and able to solve problems.
11. Able to work flexibly to achieve deadlines/targets.
12. Able to positively react to change.
13. Proficient user of Agile tooling (e.g., Atlassian Jira/Confluence, Azure Boards, or Trello, etc.).
