We have an opportunity for two full-time Specialty Doctors to shape services at Cygnet Wallace Hospital while being fully supported by a Consultant Psychiatrist and first-class multidisciplinary team.

Your role responsibilities
1. Provide high quality treatment under the direction of a Consultant Psychiatrist
2. Assess referrals & undertake mental state examinations of service users
3. Participate in weekly ward rounds & attend multidisciplinary meetings
4. Attend Care Programme Approach & mental health tribunals
5. Provide up-to-date clinical information at all meetings
6. Ensure that medical decisions are implemented as planned
7. Audit medical services & ensure compliance with GMC & other professional guidelines
8. Uphold policies & procedures and contribute to service governance & development
9. Participate in the 1:6 on call rota

We are looking for someone who is...
21. Fully GMC registered & MBBS (or equivalent) qualified
22. AMP (Approved Medical Practitioner) status or eligibility to apply for it
23. Experienced within a mental health setting
24. Able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
25. Knowledgeable of mental health legislation & codes of practice
26. An excellent clinical decision maker, with sound judgement & ability to manage risk
27. A first-rate communicator who can interview, assess & treat patients & write clear, comprehensive medical notes
28. Committed to continued professional development
29. Preferably a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists, or equivalent
Our CESR programme
This programme will help you develop the skills you need to progress to Consultant level and youll rotate within wards/services to gain valuable experience across various subspecialties.
You'll also have an educational supervisor to review your progress and oversee your development and you'll receive support with MRCPsych exams.
