The Role:
This is a very exciting opportunity for a Senior and experienced CT Diagnostic Radiographer to be part of the team to set up a new CT service in our Maidstone medical centre. You will be required to demonstrate key leadership skills and previous team development, as well as a commitment to service innovation.
What You'll Do:
* Liaise closely with the multi-disciplinary team.
* Follow all duties as a health and care professions council (HCPC) registrant (standards of conduct, performance and ethics).
* Ensure that GenesisCare clinical audit, radiation protection and quality assurance requirements are met.
* Adhere to all HCPC standards of proficiency.
* Create the right environment for all diagnostic and radiotherapy staff to work effectively together as a team.
* Ensure that the unit maintains accurate and complete records of patient treatments, in line with the agreed processes within GenesisCare.
* Follow clinical protocols, policies and procedures at all times and operate in full compliance.
* Maintain safe and effective working practices, including the operation of equipment and systems in use in the centre.
* Ensure that compliments are recorded alongside any incidents or complaints that are also escalated to the Lead CT Radiographer to ensure properly investigated.
* Build and maintain effective working relationships with all key stakeholders including patients and their carers, clinicians and their colleagues.
* Support the ongoing improvement and continuous development of the care and services provided across GenesisCare and to promote the ongoing success of the company.
* Ensure that all patients experience the highest levels of service, in line with the agreed expectations for scanning within GenesisCare centres.
* Contribute to the growth and progress of PCT cross sectional imaging.
* Lead by example taking an active clinical role in all areas of the patient pathway.
* Pro-actively maintain own continuing professional development (CPD) in accordance with GenesisCare and HCPC professional standards.
* Ensure flexibility in out of hours working in order to ensure that breakdowns or crises are resolved with minimum impact to service and treatments.
What You'll Have:
Experience and skills:
* Support the Lead Radiographer in delivering the CT and SPECT CT service at GenesisCare Windsor so that all operational objectives and clinical standards are achieved, and the reputation of GenesisCare for exceptional service and outcomes is always maintained.
* Support the Lead Radiographer in the clinical and non-clinical aspects of the services thus supporting all patients receiving scans in the centre.
* Work as a team in all aspects of diagnostic imaging thus supporting all patients receiving care across all imaging modalities offered at the centre.
* Support the Radiotherapy/Chemotherapy/Out-Patients leads to ensure a seamless treatment journey where diagnostic imaging and CT planning integrate with relevant patient pathways.
* Liaise with radiologists ensuring compliance to clinical radiology protocols and manage radiology work streams with a complete end-to-end process.
Qualifications and Knowledge:
* DCR (R) or BSc (Hons) in Radiography (or equivalent)
* HCPC registration
* Evidence of continuing professional development
* A good level of understanding of the legislation relating to Ionising Radiation/Radiation Protection and Health & Safety
* Knowledge of current trends and developments in radiography equipment and techniques
* An awareness of UK Health Environment
* Good understanding and knowledge of medical terminology and drug/medication names/disease pathways encountered in radiography/CT/MRI/mammography
