You will take on a leadership role within the programme on Mendelian randomization at the MRC Integrative epidemiology unit (IEU). The programme aims to improve causal inference, focusing on methodology and application in five key work packages: understanding genetic architecture, leveraging family-based genetic analyses, developing lifecourse genetics resources and methods, causal inference of molecular phenotypes, and causal inference of disease progression phenotypes. You will join the programme’s core team comprising two co-leads (George Davey Smith and Gibran Hemani) and several researchers at various career stages. Within Bristol we collaborate closely with the six other programmes within the IEU and also work closely with the CRUK Integrative Cancer Epidemiology Programme, the NIHR Biomedical Research Centre and the OpenGWAS team. Our programme develops methods and solutions for causal inference to serve critical epidemiological and population health questions. Potential interview date: 15/11/2024
