Teaching Assistant - (SEMH)
Location: Maidenhead, Berkshire
Full or part time
Pay - £12-18 per hour
Start date: September 2024
Supply Desk is delighted to collaborate with schools in Berkshire and Buckinghamshire that are dedicated to helping children succeed regardless of the challenges they may encounter. We are currently seeking a highly qualified support staff member with experience and/or qualifications in working with students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
The role will require the following responsibilities
* Collaborating with the teacher and assisting with creating and delivering activities
* Developing a holistic approach to meeting Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs, enabling learners to make good progress by working with teachers, other support staff, families, and external agencies.
* Assisting with the development and implementation of Individual Education/Behaviour Plans, Risk Assessments, Personal Care, and Therapy Care programmes for a designated group/form.
* Establishing therapeutic relationships with students and interacting with them according to individual needs.
The ideal candidate will have /be;
* Previous experience with SEN or a desire to work with children with SEN
* Good knowledge of SEN and a passion to develop
* Able to manage challenging behaviour
* Able to commit to working fixed days - full or part time.
* Have a clear and valid DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one
* Relevant training to support students with learning difficulties
* Able to commute to the Band and surrounding areas
