We wish to recruit an Assistant Psychologist for our North Cumbria Specialist Child and Adolescent Mental Health team within our eating disorder pathway.
Under the guidance of a Clinical Psychologist, you will work with young people, their families, and their wider support network within an established multidisciplinary team. You will support psychological assessments, evidence-based treatments, audits, and research.
Main Duties of the Job
This role is a 12-month fixed-term contract ideal for gaining experience in children's eating disorders and systemic working. Key aspects will include supporting the assessment, formulation, and intervention processes for individuals requiring specialist support beyond universal and targeted services. This may involve individual or group-based work alongside the multidisciplinary team, as well as assisting staff with their psychological understanding of children and young people.
The successful candidate will work under the direct supervision of a Clinical Psychologist and receive regular management and clinical supervision.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* 2nd class honours degree, or higher, in psychology.
* Research and Audit Skills.
* Competence in managing research databases and statistics.
* Eligibility for graduate membership of the British Psychological Society.
* Post Graduate Qualifications.
Experience
* Competence in database and statistics.
* Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams (MDTs).
* Experience of working with children and young people.
* Experience in a forensic setting.
* Prior Assistant Psychologist experience.
* Experience in a mental health setting.
Communication Skills
* Ability to communicate accurately orally and in written form.
* Experience contributing to research reports and publications.
