Do you have experience in Sterile Services and Endoscopy? If you do, it will be an advantage; if not, we will train you. Are you interested in providing a vital service to the theatres and wards? If so, this could be the job for you.
The HSDU provides a vital support service with the decontamination of medical devices to the theatres, endoscopy, and external customers.
The role of the Sterile Services Technician is to ensure that we provide an outstanding service by ensuring the safe decontamination of re-usable medical devices from the Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust's Sterile Services Department. The department also has to meet the standards ISO 13485:2016 and the requirements of the Medical Devices Directive 93/42/EEC, and holds the UKCA Mark. As a Technician, your role will require a methodical and accurate approach to the production of theatre trays and procedure packs containing surgical instrumentation and reprocessing endoscopes. Adherence to departmental standards and procedures is essential.
