WPNSA has an exciting job opportunity for an Events Coordinator to arrange and deliver our sailing events. We are looking for someone with strong people skills who is passionate about customer engagement and building strong relationships with staff, volunteers and stakeholders alike. This role has the scope to get involved in many areas of the business and bring new ideas to the team.
WPNSA is a world-renowned sailing venue and holds many types of events, including open meetings, National, European and World Championships. The role involves liaising with the Class Associations on their requirements, organising logistics, staffing with volunteers as required and communicating the details to the relevant internal departments.
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
* Experience and knowledge of sailing
* Self-motivation, the ability to work under pressure and on your own initiative
* Excellent IT skills, especially with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
* Good communication skills, both verbal and written
* Flexibility to react to changing business needs
* Desirable, but not essential, is an understanding of race documentation e.g. sailing instructions and experience and/or knowledge of dinghy or windsurf racing
* Any watersports qualifications e.g. dinghy sailing, powerboat level two etc. are an advantage, but not essential as training will be given
* Please note that this role involves evening and weekend work and longer working hours during events.
