GSL Education are seeking a compassionate Mental Health Support Worker to join a dedicated team at a school in Wimborne. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to support students with mental health challenges, helping them thrive in an inclusive and nurturing environment.
As a Mental Health Support Worker, you will provide essential support to students, ensuring their emotional and mental well-being are addressed alongside their academic development.
Responsibilities of the Mental Health Support Worker:
1. Offer one-on-one support to students experiencing mental health difficulties, helping them manage and cope with challenges.
2. Work closely with teachers and school staff to identify students who may need extra support.
3. Assist in the development of strategies and action plans to support students' emotional well-being.
4. Create a safe and supportive environment where students can discuss their concerns and access the help they need.
5. Contribute to group activities or individual sessions aimed at developing students' coping strategies and mental resilience.
6. Maintain accurate records and work closely with parents and professionals to ensure continuity of support.
Requirements of the Mental Health Support Worker:
1. Experience working with students or individuals with mental health issues is desirable.
2. A genuine passion for supporting students’ mental health and well-being.
3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build trust with students and other professionals.
4. A non-judgmental, empathetic, and patient approach to supporting students.
5. Eligible to work in the UK and have an Enhanced DBS on Update Service.
