SPAR UK is owned by five regional Retailers and Wholesalers who between them share the rights to the SPAR Brand in the UK. SPAR UK acts as the co-ordinating hub for areas of their businesses where, working collaboratively generates synergy for the benefit of their customers. Areas of activity include Buying, Marketing, IT, Finance, Supply Chain and Retail Operations.
The nature of their collaboration generates a series of projects, some ongoing, others short lived, that have significant budgets, critical financial benefits and numerous interdependencies. To manage these projects, SPAR UK are recruiting for the role of SPAR UK Programme Manager & Board Secretariat. The role will report into the SPAR UK Managing Director (Michael Fletcher) and also support the Non-Executive Chair (Nick Bunker).
Key Roles and Responsibilities
1. The supervision of the SPAR UK led projects that support the operations of the SPAR Retail and Wholesale businesses.
2. SPAR UK Board and SPAR Shareholder Board Secretariat, including annual UK and International SPAR conferences.
3. Oversight of the SPAR UK Risk Register.
Key Capability Requirements
1. Proven Project Management skills supported by relevant Project Management qualifications.
2. Strong communication and numeracy skills.
3. The ability to work with colleagues at all levels across multiple organisations.
4. Whilst not a pre-requisite, applicants with either a Chartered Governance Institute qualification, or those actively pursuing such a qualification, would be preferred. Candidates wishing to embark on, or who are currently studying CGI qualifications, will receive appropriate practical and financial support.
Location
SPAR UK offices are located at Harrow On The Hill, a very short walk from Harrow On The Hill Tube Station, limited car parking is available and Hybrid working, typically 3 days work from home, is supported for those that wish to.
Remuneration
Base Salary £60k + 10% Bonus + Private Medical + 25 Days Holiday.
