About us: Fodder www.fodder.co.uk is an award-winning farm shop and cafe selling and celebrating the very best food and drink from Yorkshire. Fodder acts as a shop window for local farmers and producers and helps consumers to access local food easily. All the profits from Fodder go to help fund the charitable work of the Yorkshire Agricultural Society. Fodder is well known for its quality and exceptional customer service. Purpose of the Role: To supervise and support the Fodder shop team and to support the Fodder Shop Manager with the overall daily operations of the shop floor ensuring efficiency and that financial targets are met. 24 hours per week working 3 out of 7 operational days of the week, one of the days will include a weekend day. Key Responsibilities To work as part of the shop management team to keep customer service levels high and maintain standards. Lead by example and support the shop team members to deliver exceptional customer service. Help to achieve financial targets, including sales and margins. Understand and help to oversee all aspects of stock (merchandising, rotation, wastage etc.). Carry out regular stock checks to ensure they are correct and at the appropriate levels. Handle cash, tills, change and cashing up. Be a key holder and open and lock Fodder as required. Be responsible for some daily orders for the shop and deli, supporting the Shop Manager and Purchasing Manager. Support team training sessions to ensure standards, customer service and product knowledge are at high levels and policies are being followed. To ensure all health and safety regulations for Fodder are adhered to. To receive, investigate, and resolve customer complaints in a timely manner. Work with the Shop Manager to organise effective promotions, supplier tastings and seasonal events. Check off deliveries and ensure that the relevant paperwork is completed. To ensure the Fodder HACCP plan is followed and to complete all relevant paperwork to play a major part in maintaining 5 stars for food standards. Be creative to ensure that Fodder is embracing trends and changes to improve business performance. To be a license holder, fire warden and first aider for Fodder. To be an active team member of Fodder; passionate about working together and be a good communicator and role model. Experience & Qualifications Considerable experience in customer service, food retailing and working as part of a team. Good level of written and verbal skills. Knowledge of the Microsoft Office Software Suite and our EPOS system Eureka. Food safety level two qualification. Personal Skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
