As a Care Assistant at Howard Court Care Home, you will provide high-quality, person-centered care to our residents, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met. Your role is crucial in promoting independence, dignity, and a positive quality of life for every resident in our care.
Key Responsibilities:
* Personal Care: Assist residents with personal hygiene, bathing, dressing, and grooming. Support residents with mobility and physical activities, including using equipment such as hoists.
* Health Monitoring: Observe and report any changes in residents' health or behaviour to the Care Manager or senior team members. Administer medications (if trained and authorized) following care home procedures.
* Daily Living Support: Assist residents during meal times, ensuring nutritional needs are met. Provide support with daily routines, including housekeeping tasks where needed.
* Emotional and Social Support: Build positive relationships with residents, families, and colleagues. Encourage residents to engage in recreational activities and social events to enhance their well-being.
* Health & Safety: Adhere to all health and safety guidelines and infection control measures. Ensure all care practices comply with relevant regulations and standards.
Qualifications & Skills:
* Experience in a care role is preferred but not essential; training will be provided.
* Compassionate, patient, and respectful demeanour.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work well as part of a team.
* Willingness to undertake further training and development.
* A basic understanding of IT systems for documentation and reporting purposes is beneficial.
Requirements:
* Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
* A DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check is required.
* A commitment to maintaining residents’ confidentiality and upholding their dignity.
