Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will have a background in Civil Engineering. play a crucial role in managing project costs, ensuring that financial aspects of construction projects are effectively controlled and monitored. This position requires a strong understanding of cost control methodologies and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct regular site visits and collaborate closely with the production team.
Assist estimators in preparing and reviewing tenders, ensuring an understanding of client requirements and offering value engineering solutions.
Provide early cost advice on project variations and ensure only authorized changes are implemented.
Offer technical guidance on drawings and ensure proper project documentation is maintained.
Manage the full commercial lifecycle of assigned projects, maximizing value and working in conjunction with the Finance and Procurement departments.
Ensure all commercial tasks are completed accurately and on time, including analysis of rates, prices, and variations.
* Identify and mitigate potential financial risks, negotiating resolutions with third parties as necessary.
* Forecast monthly and annual profit projections and ensure they are maintained throughout the project's duration.
* Understand and apply site and project safety principles, supporting the Safety Director and team in implementing safety policies.
* Address any safety concerns immediately, in collaboration with the safety team and Directors when needed.
* Develop strong client relationships, including through social networking.
* Allocate tasks to subcontractors and assist with procurement when necessary.
Requirements:
* Minimum GCSEs: 7 A-C/5-9 grades, including Math and English.
* Minimum 3 A-Levels at Grade B or above (or equivalent BTEC).
* HNC Level 4 qualification in Construction/Building or equivalent.
* Relevant experience as a Quantity Surveyor.
* Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
* Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
* Strong problem-solving skills and ability to gather and analyze information effectively.
* Highly motivated with a strong work ethic.

Pay: £45,000 - £55,000 per year
