Grid Engineer
Hybrid model - Milton Keynes office 2 days a week
Fully integrated solar and PV operator, working across Europe
£50,000 DOE + 15% bonus
Are you ready for a role that will allow you to work across the full project lifecycle? If you have a background in the UK grid connection space and knowledge of grid code applications and processes, then this might be the opportunity for you!
A growing pan European, fully integrated PV specialist is looking to grow their technical grid team out due to their substantial pipeline. They work across development, design, construction and asset management, specialising in utility scale solar plants and BESS projects. You'd be able to work across a pipeline of 5GW, with over 1.5GW of secured grid connections across 120 fully consented projects. This will allow you to work on a variety of projects, with their pipeline covering both transmission and distribution connection agreements.
You would be fully supported in this position too, working closely with their Head of Grid Connections. Ideally, you'd have a background working on distribution level connections, but you'd have the opportunity to cover both transmission and distribution level connection agreements. Your main responsibilities would surround gaining new connection agreements, managing stakeholder relationships and completing G99 applications.
The group has varied activities, working through project development, design and site analysis for Solar and BESS projects. Additionally to this, the group invests into their own projects as well as having long term partnerships with investors for their projects. Following on from this, they have centralised EPC teams to work through these construction stages and into commissioning. Furthermore, the group also has operations functions allowing them to manage their assets in house. This means they have additional revenue streams and really adds variety into the work and projects you will be covering in this role, as their grid team will cover projects at every stage of the lifecycle.
The role itself will also be varied, given the pipeline and nature of the business. Your main role will be focused around connection agreements and managing this process in a high quality and timely manner. Other responsibilities will include:
1. Keeping up to date with UK grid code processes and networking within this space.
2. Managing processes from a technical point of view, reviewing offers and negotiating with DNOs and TSOs.
3. Ensuring grid and land applications are feasible.
4. Completing G99 applications.
5. Managing and establishing relationships with stakeholders throughout the process.
If this sounds like the right fit for you, apply and let's discuss!
